The Triumphant Return.

They're back.

Yeah, I was speechless too. When I first heard, I literally hyperventilated. And it gets better, not only are they back but they're bringing some new tunes along with them. Of course, if you haven't guessed, I am indeed talking about the almighty, the godly, the awe-inspiring Prodigy.

Where? Download Festival.
When? 8th June 2012.
Why? Because it'll be fucking awesome.

It's been a while since their last real appearance and way too long since I last saw them - being Warriors Dance Festival, 24th July 2010! In my humble opinion, this will be the beginning of the new dawn of The Prodigy. They will emerge from this with their reputation elevating them once more off the ground and showing the world that they are indeed, the best at what they do; Raving.

The Warrior within me is beckoning. The call is growing louder. The Rave is upon us. I hope you're prepared, ready to Get The Fuck Down... because if not, the warrior's will come for you.

May The Fuck be with you. Until next time,
Cein.

A month in the life of........

HELLO!!! It has been a full month since our last meeting! My apologies for my absence!
Anyway, seeing as though we’re back and I’m now more on top of things, we will resume this blog forth with!
A lot Has happened but I will try and summarise for you: we finished school (success!) and had the river boat shuffle (which was okay!). Then I was lucky enough to win tickets to the first night of the ITunes festival to see Paul Simon! Surprisingly, it was a great set and one of the best artists I’ve ever seen live!
Then, literally the next day, myself and some others went to Hyde Park’s Wireless festival. Among the acts were The Whip, Katy B and The Streets. Chase and Status also played. Now, I’m not a massive fan of C&S but they really get the crowd going and you can’t help but dance! They even managed to get Tempa T to come out! TEMMMMPPPPPZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!! However, the real showstoppers of the day were The Chemical Brothers. Ahh... I’m not even sure I can put into words how good these guys were! Their music is non-stop carnage! If you get the chance to see them live; GO! Because, one day, I want to Do It Again.
Moving on, since then I’ve been to see White Lies twice and The Wombats! Thanks to ITunes for two of those gigs but one of them, myself and some other true White Lies fans travelled all the way to Coventry for one of the most intimate gigs ever. AND, to top off an amazing road trip, we even got to meet the band afterwards! I’m not going to lie but I almost did unspeakable things with Charles Cave (the bassist)... but enough of that!
In more recent news, I’ve found myself a job that pays well and is actually pretty fun! It’s in a hotel, and before now I’ve only ever been a customer in a hotel but now, being a hotel worker, I’ve seen how everything works and come together! As well as being interesting, it’s surprisingly fun (If not tiring!). I know many people my age are in work or looking for work at the moment, so those employed, I hope you’re enjoying yourselves! And to those seeking employment, I grant you good luck for you search!
That is all for now. I will probably be posting extremely soon but till’ then, may The Fuck be with you! Until next time,
Cein.

Poetry and Pokémon

Hello!
It has come to my attention that we are currently in exam season... And that this week in particular is being commonly referred to as ‘hell week’! For those not in the loop (whom I fear is all of you as I may have made this expression up) let me explain... In the first week, I had 2 exams. The next week I had just 2 exams again. Now, as we reach the third week, it has just dawned on me that I have 6 exams! *faints slowly for added effect* And... I’m definitely not the only one in this situation. So to stress my annoyance of this state of affairs, I have decided to write a poem for you;
So here we are,
Three weeks in,
How’s your revision going?
Most of mine is in the bin.
Yeah. I didn’t get very far until I had no idea what to write... and what I did do isn’t very good. But you know what it’s taught me? To appreciate poets who come up with shite 10x longer than mine! I have no idea how they do it but all I know is; I can’t. It’s just not possible. I tried. I failed. Lets just call it writers block, eh?
Anyways, onto other news... the other day I trained my Charizard to lvl.100! Yeah... I *should* have been doing revision but in the long term, Pokémon is much more importa nt! In the near future, some friends and I are getting together for a Pokémon championship and I need to get ready! To be honest, I know I can annihilate obliterate completly vapourise all their Pokémon but better safe than sorry I suppose, so the training must continue!
And now, alas, we have arrived at the final milestone of this post. My Musical Matter section! Today is extra-special; I have 2 songs for you! Allow me to explain...
The first is a cover song of Ed Sheerans ‘The A-Team’. I’m not going to lie to you; I hate this song so much. The way Sheeran sings it literally makes my ears begin to bleed. However, the cover artist, Hywel Bradley sings this song so well, he makes me want to listen to it, my ears suddenly become immune when I hear his voice (this is beginning to sound homosexual, but you know when you hear a song and the actually song's rubbish but the artist's voice literally MAKES the song so good, yeah thats what it's like here). Like White Denim in my last post, this is a guy who you want to keep an eye out for - could be the next Dave Grohl or something... Without further ado, here’s Hywel;
The A-Team – Ed Sheeran (COVER)
The second song I have for you is, naturally, a song by The Prodigy. However, it’s an unknown b-side. I think this song’s really a ‘you either love it or hate it’ kind of thing... It’s not really anything like The Prodigy’s normal catalogue but I urge you to give it a listen. A reason why this is probably a b-side rather than an a-tune, is that its repetitive-ness wouldn’t suit well to an album but this was one of their most successful live tracks during the 1990’s. Here you are:
Pandemonium – The Prodigy
I hope you enjoy these great songs but now I’m afraid that’s all we have time for, so I’ll bid you farewell. As always; may The Fuck be with you.
Until next time,
Cein.

The Great Depression

So today I thought I’d get a lot of revision done. Guess what? It didn’t happen. It just didn’t. No. Nothing close to it. I did get some done this morning though, so it wasn’t all a waste and I will do some tonight but there’s that massive gap at midday... I bet you’re dying to know what I did during those 5 or so hours. Well then, I’ll tell you.
As I said yesterday, I’m going to a Chameleon Circuit Party on Saturday and I want some spending monies as apparently there’s going to be ALOT of merchandise there. At the moment, I have £20. And you know what? I owe Lisa £20 for the ticket. So I was getting a little desperate and found myself asking my mum if there was anything I could do to get some money. Here’s where the bombshell came. She told me to clean my room! What’s that I hear you say?
“Is that it?”
“You get money to clean your room!?”
“Why are you complaining!?!”
Well, I’ll tell you. In my family, my room is commonly referred to as the ‘black hole’, the ‘tip’ or ‘the amazing, floorless room!’ And seriously, that’s no understatement. This morning, there was probably around 1 foot of random things covering the floor! So, I got to work...
4 hours later, I’m still not done but have called it a day simply because I’m lazy. However, my room is a lot tidier now but still nowhere near being vaguely finished! However, it’s been a good day’s work and hopefully tomorrow my room will be a lot nicer place to revise in! But yeah, I still have a lot more to do until it’s perfect... :/
Anyways...
I have something very exciting to tell you! As you may have gathered, I am a bit of a Prodigy fan... And if you know my good friend Colm Murphy, you will know that he is a bit of a Muse fan... In recognition of this, Colm and I will do two very special blog posts! I shall do ‘The beginners guide to The Prodigy’ and the very next day, Colm will post his ‘The beginners guide to Muse’. More on this exciting event soon!
Finally, as promised, this post is much shorter than yesterday’s essay but there is still one thing left! Today’s Musical Matters!
Among my many travels, I have come across some awful pop trash, some amazing rock genius and some average indie rifts. Today’s gem is inventive, different and completely amazing. The song is ‘Drugs’ by the Texas four-piece rock band ‘White Denim’. Featured in this month’s ‘Rolling Stone’ and ‘Q’ magazines, White Denim has established themselves as something worth listening to. I’ve chosen this song simply because I could see this band becoming something brilliant and look forward to following their progress for a long time. Without further ado...
Drugs – White Denim.
That’s all for now folks and while I’m gone, may The Fuck be with you.
Until next time,
Cein.

A Grand Fool....

Ok... so I’ve been thinking lately what my next post should be about. Past posts have been made up in the moment, but this one needed some thought and preparation. To you, this may sound strange; so let me explain... Over the weekend, I had a realisation. I thought to myself “my blog’s just a blog. There’s nothing really special about it, is there?”. It got me rather depressed, which added to my many worries... BUT all was not lost good people! Monday morning, I woke up and knew. Knew what this blog was going to be... Knew its destiny...
To be honest, it’s not going to be anything different from before... I just believe in this blog a little more now. However, there is going to be something new today! Don’t you feel so lucky? Getting something completely new in today’s post?! If I was you, I’d feel pretty lucky... More on this later though!
Anyways...
Do you ever find yourself adapting and saying new words instinctively? For example, years ago – I began to make fun out of my Irish parents’ accents and began to say the word ‘Grand’ (for all those who aren’t that bright, it means ‘good’ or ‘great’). At first, It was merely a joke and was meant to annoy my mam and dad but over time, it as become one of my most used words! Nowadays, I don’t do it for a ‘laugh’; I do it because it’s the first word that comes to mind and it sort of slips out! A bit like turettes...
That was then; now I have a new word... Something I really don’t even like. *sigh* It’s actually a little embarrassing... It’s the word ‘fool’. I have no idea where this even came from or even why I do it?!!! In contrast to ‘Grand’, ‘fool’ is beginning to annoy me. I feel like I have some kind of syndrome where I’m trying to act like some hard black stereotype and however hard I try to resist... it kind of slips out! It’s not until after I say it or write it that I realise that I’ve just fuelled the fire and made it even more imprinted in my brain, thus making it harder to stop! *sigh* I’ve talked about this too much... I shall move on... *sigh*
So, do you remember the post where I mentioned Chameleon Circuit? I hope you looked them up, and also looked up Nerimon when I mentioned him too because then, you’ll appreciate what I’m about to say; this Saturday, I’m going to go to a listening party of theirs and am going to meet them!!! Their new album ’Still Got Legs’ is out soon and I recommend you looking it up as it sounds to be an extremely promising album! Also, I'm just going to add a massive thank you to my great friends Lisa and Ria, who got the tickets for us! :D
Anyway... here comes the new, mysterious and highly anticipated section to the post! Each day (*post) I’m going to give you a music track, which I hope you may not have heard, and strongly suggest you listen to it. I’m going to brand it ‘Musical Matters’. What do you think? Catchy? Or just stupid!? I don’t know, tell me what you think... I shall endeavour to pick a track for next time. This first one is just to push you to go listen to it again (as I know you’ve heard it all before).
Stockholm Syndrome – Muse.
From their album Absolution (like you didn’t know already)
I've chosen this song as I have to admit, it's one of my favorite songs of theirs and I hope that one day I may get to see live...
That’s enough rambling from one Irish man today, I bid you farewell and hope all that revision (for those actually revising) goes well. May The Fuck be with you.
Until next time,
Cein.

P.S. I apologise for the anti-climax of the "new, mysterious and highly anticipated section" but I hope you'll listen and enjoy my suggestions. Also, I apologise for the length of this post. Once I get started, it’s hard to know when to stop! Next time, it shall be shorter! :)

Getting the f*ck down: The origin story.

Good evening all,
I have come to write to you tonight to tell you some grave news... when I tell, I want you to remember that all is okay; life goes on and all that. Now... are you ready? *Deep breath. Exhale* Ready now? Okay, here it is; I have discovered a hole in my favourite pair of socks. I know... absolutely devastating. *sigh* A wise man once told me that there’s always more socks in the drawer - but the realism is hard to face you know? However, as I’ve said, life goes on! I’m sorry for having to include this tragedy in today’s post but now, we move on...
As I’m sure you already know, The Prodigy’s first live album/DVD came out on Monday, ‘World’s on Fire’. Now, to say this is a good album would be a ridiculous understatement. Having been filmed at The Warrior’s Dance Festival last July, you experience The Prodigy at their best – absolutely amazing. I have created a review title for this album, I hope you like it:
“Sex is great. Sex is amazing. But World’s on Fire is better. Much better...”
I hoped you liked it! The actual DVD is fantastic though. Most of you will know the saying “Get The Fuck Down”, made famous by some random dude, which comes directly from this concert. Seeing 65,000 people getting the fuck down is truly a life changing event. You may not like the song but there is no denying that this band is something special when it comes to live shows, no matter how much you like them. My recommendation; get the album and watch the DVD, forget about the songs for the moment, but you must experience the buzz of the gig itself.
Also, on the subject of getting the fuck down, some people have asked me what ‘The Fuck’ is, what I began to mention in my previous post. Quite simply, ‘The Fuck’ is a measure of how cool you are, in accordance to how low you can get down to the floor when someone says ‘Get the fuck down’. Complicated? A little. Understandable? Yes. I hope you have all enjoyed learning about The Fuck. Moving on...
It has struck me how many concerts there have been announced recently! With White Lies headlining Wembley arena in December, to The Wombats’ UK tour in September. This is an extremely busy time for Music fans! Are you guys planning on booking anything? Going to any festivals this summer? Comment and tell me about them! In the future, I’d love to do a segment on people’s opinions of the artists they’ve seen live, so if you’re interested in maybe writing a short post for me, please tell me!
Anyways, this has been rather musically orientated and even more so Prodigy orientated. If this hasn’t been your cup of tea (I still have no idea why I use this analogy when I still hate tea!), i’m sorry but believe me when better posts are coming for you soon!
In the meantime, may The Fuck be with you.
Until next time,
Cein.

The F*ck.

As I write this for you good people, I am listening to the tranquil music of the Prodigy. At this very moment – Smack my bitch up has just come on.... Erm, be right back...
*several minutes later*
Oh my God – that was incredible... words almost can’t describe how amazing that song is... Of course, ALL their songs are amazing but this one just tops the list! Haven’t heard of the prodigy? Well, I KNOW you’re lying but anyway, I recommend Smack, Take me to the Hospital, Breathe and Voodoo People as great songs you must hear! There are so many more but those are top notch songs for people who don’t know Prodigy.
Now, I must say that I have experienced a lot of hate towards the prodigy and I understand that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea... (I have no idea why I used that analogy because I don’t even like tea) and of course, I’m not here to tell you you’re wrong but next time you’re at the party or rave, just switch on a Prodigy song and you’ll know what i mean – the music goes through you and physically makes you dance! The buzz is better than cocaine. Trust me.
Going over to GCSE news... we all had English Literature today. As soon as we left that hall, some were hugging, others were crying (with joy) and a select few were relieving themselves... the general consensus; happiness! Personally, the questions were what I was hoping for, so that probably helped quite a bit! I hope you all get the results you want and enjoy not having English ever again! (unless you’re doing it for a-level like me :S)
Anyways, that is all for now, may the fuck be with you.
Until next time,
Cein.

Español!

Si puede leer esto, entonces usted es probablemente mejor que yo en español como solía traductor de google para hacer esto en español.
Understand that? Yeah, me neither… Tomorrow is my Spanish listening exam and of course; I’m not ready. I could blame my teacher for my poor Spanish knowledge and place all the blame onto her, so of course, I will. However, I've given up caring for Spanish, so won't go into to much detail - as you probably don't care either!
So... other than defecating over my Spanish exam, I’m also worried about English literature on Tuesday. But you know what? I’m not even going to bother writing about that as I wouldn't want to kill you with boredom!
Going onto Musical Matters, I would like to recommend further listening material to you good people! Many of you will be familiar with Charlieissocoollike from YouTube (for those of you who don’t know, go look him up!), he is a Vlogger but also an musician. He’s in Chameleon Circuit and used to be in a band called Sons of Admirals, however, they have sadly split up. When he’s not with the other band members, he’s doing his own thing and making cool solo songs. I could recommend many to you but the best is easily Duet with Myself (watch the video as well): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVo-S9ns2_A and also check out A song about Acne: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIh0rbpjDPQ I hope you enjoy them!
Today, I also listened to the full Muse album Origin of Symmetry – in preparation for Reading Festival. Favourite songs? Easily Citizen Erased or Plug In Baby. However, the entire album is amazing! If you have been naive enough not to have heard it yet GO CHECK IT OUT NOW!!! The way muse make music is beautiful and this is, in my opinion, their best work!
Before you fall asleep, I’d just like to say good luck to all those doing exams this week!
Until next time,
Cein.

A Handful Of Tim Minchin

Hello there!
First of all, I must apologise for my last post; it was hardly a blog post but thank you for all your great ideas and suggestions for the Vlog! I have sifted through them all and I must say, some were pretty freakin’ genius! However, I have chosen two ‘winners’ – Elise and Kaja. Thank you and well done to you both - your prize will come in the next few years weeks (that is, if I get round to it).
Anyway, on another note – today is the end of the world. There will be “fire and blood and anguish”! *sad face*.  And yes – that means this is the last ever Blog post! Noooooooo! *sad face*. We hardly got to know each other and now, we have to leave and never see one another again! *sad face*. That is if you believe in the Rapture, which I don’t, so we’ll forget these little end of the world scares and carry on as if nothing happened... *happy face*.
So...
On another matter: Doctor Who’s on tonight! I’m so excited! According to the writer of this episode, it’s supposed to be the most frightening yet! So scary, that the BBC are considering putting out a warning before the show about it! Last week’s episode was interesting... I didn’t really like it to be honest – I didn’t like the story line or the whole idea of the TARDIS being a woman. It just seemed too strange for me. What did you guys think?
Going onto musical matters, this week I’ve been rather bored due to revision, so have been trying to find something good to listen to. It was then I re-discovered my love of Tim Minchin. For those of you who don’t know Tim, he’s an Australian Comedian and trust me; he’s very, very funny! Want a listen? I recommend you listening to ‘Prejudice’, a satirical look on people who are prejudice. Enjoy: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVN_0qvuhhw
Also, I must also tell you of a YouTube Vlogger I have recently found and really enjoyed! His name is Simon and his channel is called ‘In a handful of minutes’. Basically, he reviews things (absolutely anything) and condenses his own knowledge into a couple of minutes, thus the name ‘In a handful of minutes’! The humour is quite intelligent and Simon is extremely witty but alas; he is one of the most underappreciated Vloggers on YouTube. People like Charlieissocoollike and Nerimon both love Simon and his channel; Charlie has even done a guest appearance on ‘In a handful of minutes’ but Simon still has a very low amount of subscribers. Please – check him out: http://www.youtube.com/user/HandfulOfMinutes
That is all for now, so I bid you farewell and hope you have an amazing weekend in this sun!
Until next time,
Cein.

HELP!!!

So here I am. Again. You’re not bored of me already I hope? Anyways... today I’m going to tell you a story! It’s not really very interesting, nor will you probably find it funny – however, I will endeavour to tell it to you anyway!
This afternoon, I had the strong urge to make my first Vlog (and if you non-nerds have forgotten, that’s Video-Blog). I tried doing it on my Blackberry – the video was good but the sound was poor. I tried doing it on my Ipod – the video was good but again, the sound was poor.  I then eventually found my camera and hey presto! The video was good and the sound was good! I was the all hyped to begin, when the bomb shell dropped. I had no idea what to Vlog about or what to do in any videos that you guys would find interesting! So, here it is – I’m willing to give a prize (of which I am unsure of at the moment) to the person who comes up with the most interesting thing for me to do in a video! All you have to do is either inbox me on Facebook or write a comment down below!
That's all I have to say at the moment, I may write again later but for now I say; send your suggestions to me as soon as possible!
Until next time,
Cein.

The Beginning!

Aha! Hello to my blog! I’m Cein and I’ve finally, after months of chatting to my peers about it, decided to join the blogging world!
I’m an avid follower of several other blogs and Vlogs (to those who aren’t fellow nerds, that’s Video-Blogs) but never thought I’d have the guts to make one myself, but here I am and I hope you’ll enjoy reading this and future posts!
Obviously, I will endure to make it humorous and entertaining for you but I can’t promise anything seeing as I’m Irish. As we’re not a necessarily a funny race of people. Sure, we have our moments – but we’re better known for our drink (which isn’t a bad thing!)  and of course our good luck!
Did you know: while every person in the world is assigned an angel to look over them and guide them, Irish people are given a leprechaun to give them good luck! This common practice dates back to pre-historic times and is a closely kept secret in Ireland.
So...  Getting back to things you actually care about... I am currently in the middle of GCSE’s (not that you care about it; but you’re going to hear about it anyway!). They’re the most over-hyped thing imaginable. Sure, some are tricky but all are do-able! Today, I did my English Language Paper 2 – which to you and me is the ‘Poetry Paper’. Now, this had the entire year troubling themselves in anticipation of what was going to be on the test, but when it came to the dreaded paper, it was simple enough! Not ‘easy’ but certainly a ‘nice’ paper (if that even exists). The poem was ‘Water’ by Robert Lowell – just if you wanted to know – and was defiantly a straightforward poem to analyse. It was basically about some guy looking back, very nostalgically, to when he used to be a fisherman in Maine. To be honest, it wasn’t an amazing poem but was better than most I’ve had to analyse in my time!
Moreover, we must move onto more pressing matters! Musical matters that is!
I’ve recently been introduced to Trock and I must say that I love it! Basically, Trock is Time Lord Rock and artists, such as Chameleon Circuit, write and perform songs orientated around Doctor Who! Whoever thought of this was a genius! To those who are interested, I would look up ‘Blink’ and ‘Exterminate, Regenerate’ – both by Chameleon Circuit! I guarantee that you will not be let down by these songs!
I came into the knowledge today that one of my friends, Grace, has met Alex Day! I have to admit, I am extremely jealous! To those who don’t know Mr. Day, he is a Youtube Vlogger sensation! His most notable works include reading each and every chapter of Twilight and ‘commenting’ on it – I must say, he is hilariously hilarious. Look him up: http://www.youtube.com/user/nerimon!
I will big you farewell here before I waffle on too long and make you increasingly more bored. I seriously hope you have enjoyed reading and will return for more of Cein!
Until next time,
Cein.
